None of the youngsters who took to the field in the Capital One Cup defeat really covered themselves in glory, but there’s one player who was absent that day and could be the answer to our problems.
France crashed out of the U17s World Cup in Chile on the 29th – losing on penalties to Costa Rica – and will therefore be returning home (via FIFA). This means the return of Reine-Adelaide to Arsenal, a player who was hugely impressive in pre-season.
He was one of the brightest talents at the Emirates Cup, and really caught the eye with his pace, power, and trickery. The teen performs like a player far beyond his years, and looks to have a truly great future ahead of him.
Arsene Wenger may choose to utilise him in the coming games, with a tricky run of fixtures coming up. Our clash with Swansea is likely to be too soon considering his exertion with the national side, but he could certainly feature against Bayern Munich or Tottenham.
