Jeremy Corbyn is potentially the next UK Prime Minister, and is also a well known Arsenal fan. The Labour leader claims he has massive confidence in Arsene Wenger, and believes we will be crowned champions come the end of the season, as reported by Goal.
The 66-year-old was questioned by the BBC, and asked whether he thought Arsenal would win the Premier League before he became Prime Minister. He was hopeful that he would be elected into office before the next scheduled general election in 2020, but seemed confident that this season we’d see Arsenal lifting the trophy.
“I hope the general election will come very soon, but I’m very confident of Arsenal [winning the league] this season,” he said.
“In Arsene Wenger we trust!”
With plenty of unrest in the UK at the moment, and large portions of the population unhappy with the Conservative Government, the Labour leader is hoping for an early election. That doesn’t seem likely at the moment, but with Corbyn-mania sweeping the nation, anything is possible.
It’s always unclear how much of a football fan these celebrities and MPs actually are, but Corbyn certainly seems to be a better fan than David Cameron. The Conservative leader has always insisted he’s an Aston Villa supporter, but hilariously mistook his side for West Ham due to the similar strips they wear (via the Daily Mail). He made up excuses for his blunder, but an actual fan would obviously not have made that mistake.

Arsenal transfer news
Hopefully Corbyn is right about Arsenal, and we see Arsene Wenger lifting his first Premier League trophy in over a decade in 2016.
