As part of the deal that will see Gabriel Paulista coming to Arsenal, Joel Campbell will spend the rest of the season on-loan at Villarreal.
The 22-year-old has struggled to establish himself in Arsene Wenger’s team this term and is relishing the opportunity for more game time in Spain.
“Playing at Villarreal for the rest of the season means a lot to me, I’m very happy for this opportunity,” Campbell was quoted by talkSPORT.
“It will be a pleasure for me to play at Villarreal, a great team well placed in the league table. They have a style of play that will suit me well.”
Campbell is no stranger to La Liga having previously enjoyed a loan spell with Real Betis and this will be the fourth time we have sent the Costa Rica international out on a temporary deal.

We may be left a little short in the final third though as Lukas Podolski and Yaya Sanogo have also gone out on-loan this January to Inter Milan and Crystal Palace respectively.
