There has been a worrying update on the fitness of Arsenal’s Lucas Torreira who picked up an injury whilst on international duty (via The Standard).
It’s always a cause for concern amongst club football fans when their players head onto international break as the injury news comes in.
That has happened for Arsenal’s Lucas Torreira after he played for Uruguay in their 4-1 win over Mexico on the weekend.
The midfielder lasted just 45 minutes in the match before being replaced at half-time and now, journalist Ben Dinnery has provided an update on the injury.
Lucas Torreira will be assessed after he picked up a knock in the 4-1 friendly win over Mexico. The Arsenal midfielder was replaced at HT on Saturday and sat through the whole of the second forty-five watching from the bench with an ice pack wrapped around his left leg. #AFC

Torreira was left with an ice pack wrapped around his left leg but it is still unclear how bad the injury is.

It comes at a worrying time for Arsenal fans who will be hoping that the former Sampdoria man is fit enough for Saturday’s trip to Newcastle.
It’s a worry for Arsenal. Lucas Torreira has performed extremely well during this season and was competing for a starting spot on the weekend. Let’s hope the injury isn’t as serious as feared and Torreira can return to full training this week.
