Julian Draxler has revealed why he chose to stay at PSG this summer amid interest from a host of teams including the Gunners (via Goal.com).
He’s a player who Arsenal have been chasing for many years and it seems that Gunners fans may have to wait a little longer before seeing Julian Draxler at the Emirates.
The former Wolfsburg man signed for Paris Saint Germain just eight months ago but after the summer arrivals of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, his place in the side was somewhat in doubt.
PSG were reportedly open to offers for the 23-year-old but Draxler has now revealed why he refused to leave the Parc des Princes during the window.
“I am greatly looking forward to playing with [Neymar and Mbappe],” Draxler revealed. “But, if players are bought for €222m or €180m, they have an advantage on paper.
“But I am confident — that’s why I didn’t think about leaving Paris.”

It’s a shame that we haven’t had a chance to see Julian Draxler in an Arsenal shirt yet. He’s a top quality player and would suit the team so well. Perhaps if he doesn’t get a chance to get into the PSG team then he could look for a way out of the club in January.
