Reports in Italy claim that Juventus are not interested in Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, despite the recent transfer rumours (via Sport Witness).
It would have been one of the strangest transfers in some time but it seems that Juventus are not going to be signing an Arsenal midfielder anytime soon.
Reports broke earlier this week that the Italian champions were in the market for a new central midfielder and that Jack Wilshere was on their list.
Now, the Italian press has distanced Juventus from the rumours, claiming that they do not need any reinforcement in that position.
“The reality is the names [of midfielders of interest] are always the same,” claims Gazzetta dello Sport in their Monday edition.
The names in question are the likes of Wilshere, Emre Can, Andre Gomez and Mateo Kovacic.

The only part of this story which makes it somewhat plausible is Wilshere’s past links to Italy. The midfielder was a target for AS Roma last year and after friend and former teammate Wojciech Szczesny swapped Rome for Turin, maybe Wilshere would consider doing the same. It seems that that will not happen but if the Englishman is struggling to break into the Arsenal team, would he really have had a better chance at Juventus?
