Arsenal shot stopper Wojciech Szczesny believes that the international break came at the right time for Arsenal. Arsène Wenger’s side had won three games in a row before letting leads slip against Anderlecht and Swansea City at the start of November.
But the international break came up right after the Swansea game, allowing most players to go to their countries’ training camps and get a change of pace. And Szczesny says that this has helped them, and Arsenal are determined to get back on track when they face Manchester United at Emirates Stadium today.
The international break probably came at a good time for us, because we needed one. We’ve come back, everyone is in a good mood and we’re looking forward to a big game on Saturday. It’s a big one for us.
Whoever you come up against in the Premier League looks forward to the game. Every team plays attacking football and wants to get the three points. No team really comes to defend.
It’s always exciting and with the quality of the players in both teams and with both teams really fighting to get three points it should be a very exciting game.
Our history against Manchester United recently hasn’t been very good. We didn’t score a single goal against them last season, so that’s something that we’re looking to improve.

Hopefully this will be a step. It could give us a big push to go and challenge for the rest of the season.
Last season was one of United’s worst ever, and yet we managed only one point out of a possible six against them. A win today would not only help with the confidence levels of the team, but also give us a valuable edge over the Red Devils in the race for the top four.
