Hector Bellerin has been the subject of a number of far-fetched transfer rumours already this summer, but Arsene Wenger is apparently looking to ward off interest in the Spaniard by offering him a bumper new contract, as reported by the Mirror.

As the report suggests, Barcelona have been heavily linked with a move for the young right-back. They are looking to replace the outgoing Dani Alves, bringing Bellerin back to the club after years away – Barca DNA and all that rubbish.
We’re obviously determined to keep hold of the 21-year-old though, and are consequently set to offer him an extension on his current deal. He still has three years left to run on his contract (via the Mirror), but after his impressive rise to the top and the interest being shown in him Wenger clearly feels he deserves a better deal.
There’s no news on how much Bellerin’s contract will be boosted by, or what kind of extension he’d be looking at. It seems unlikely that he’d turn down a new contract though, as he’s currently first choice at right-back, seems incredibly happy at the club, and insists he can’t see himself playing anywhere but Arsenal (via the Metro).

We need to make sure we keep hold of our bright young talent in order to build for the future, and if we were to lose Bellerin that would be a horrible statement to make.
