A long transfer saga has come to a close, and Sami Khedira has signed for Serie A champions and Champions League finalists Juventus (via the BBC).
This will hopefully open the door for us to sign Arturo Vidal, who we have been linked with for weeks now (via the Mirror).

Arsenal rumours
The report claims he will be available for £29m, with Juventus determined to hold onto Paul Pogba. This is a massive boost for us, and makes the Vidal transfer rumours look far more realistic.
The Chilean didn’t exactly cover himself in glory during the Champions League final, and he was arguably lucky to remain on the pitch after a number of fouls came close to seeing him given his marching orders.
He is still a top quality midfielder however, and is certainly the level of player we should be targeting if we want to challenge for the highest honours.

We were also linked with Khedira earlier in the season (via the Express), but despite his obvious quality there were a number of reasons why he wasn’t suitable for us. The fact he was available on a free transfer was nice, but him signing for Juventus could open the door for us to sign someone even better.
