Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been taking flak recently, with his inactivity in the transfer market infuriating a number of fans. There are many calling for him to be replaced, and former Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp may prove a popular choice after his recent comments.
The 48-year-old has been unemployed since parting ways with the Bundesliga side, but claims he is ready for a new project. He highlighted the fact that he isn’t looking for “an absolutely top club”, and is instead looking for a club that needs help.
“It doesn’t have to be an absolute top club. There are other good projects that are exciting, [teams] who need help,” he told Bild (via Daily Mail).
His agent Marc Kosicke claimed he wasn’t looking purely at top four clubs, suggesting Liverpool was a more likely candidate. He stressed that it was about the challenge though, and getting Arsenal back to where they belong at the top is certainly a challenge.
“We do not only think about the top four because there are some other great clubs below them,” Kosicke said (via The Guardian).
“It is always all about the challenge.
“He has the great ability to develop things. If he goes into a stadium, feels the energy and thinks that he can make a difference here, this could be more attractive to him than going with the big deals and aim for the treble.”
Not all Arsenal fans are convinced that Wenger’s time at the club is up, and while the Frenchman remains at the Emirates he will still have the full support of a huge number of Gooners.

We have to think about the future however, as Wenger won’t be around forever – whether he leaves voluntarily in a timely fashion or under a cloud of negativity.
There are very few managers that would fit the philosophy at Arsenal, but Klopp seems to be one of them.
