Laurent Koscielny believes Arsenal are in good spirits after a positive preseason tour of Asia where they won all four matches.
The Gunners won all four fixtures on the tour scoring 19 goals in the process, however their preparations will step up a notch with the Emirates Cup this weekend which features a host of European heavyweights – Napoli, Galatasaray and FC Porto.
With a tough friendly on the horizon against Manchester City too, Koscielny feels the teams recent performances and training intensity will help them prepare positively for the upcoming Premier League season.
The Frenchman told Sky Sports:
We won all our games so that’s good for confidence. We had a lot of training and all the players trained very well and gave themselves for the team.
Pre-season is very important for the Premier League. It’s a long season so we need to be fit – I think we did well.

The wins give us some confidence, and it’s good for the next games – the Emirates Cup, [the friendly] against Manchester City and the start of the season.
Arsenal’s squad will start to be properly tested over the next few weeks as they look to getting back to business. They ended last season on a high and will look to continue their unbeaten streak through preseason and into the new campaign.
The Emirates Cup can provide a platform for the youngsters to prove themselves against top opposition as well as testing the squads fitness levels with the high intensity games.
But as Koscielny said Wenger’s side are brimming with confidence and they must maintain the positive spirit within the squad as the season opener approaches.
Mind you, a senior signing wouldn’t hurt would it?
