Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny could be tempted to leave the Gunners this summer and move to Marseille, according to a source close to the player.
The France international is currently sidelined with injury and Arsene Wenger has admitted he will miss Monday’s Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.
The 31-year-old, along with Olivier Giroud, has been linked with a move to Marseille in recent days and the Ligue 1 side have now been given encouragement they could land the centre-back.
“Why not? If Marseille can attract Dimitri Payet, Marseille can do the same with Laurent Koscielny,” The Metro report a source telling Yahoo France.
The report declines to mention the nature of the source and how close they may be to the player but it will be another concern for Arsenal who already face uncertainty over Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.
Wenger’s future at the club is also yet to be confirmed, although the current expectation is that he will stay and he insisted earlier today that star man Sanchez is also keen to remain at the club.

Koscielny has become vital to Arsenal since joining from Lorient in 2010 and the club would be loathe to lose him, particularly this summer which could be so crucial to the Gunners’ fortunes.
However, the defender has repeatedly claimed he wants to finish his career at Arsenal and only signed a new deal back in January, suggesting he has no intention of moving just yet.
