Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed that striker Alexandre Lacazette has agreed a deal with Atletico Madrid but admits the move could still fall though.
Diego Simeone’s side are still operating under a transfer ban which will prevent them from signing players this summer unless it is lifted.
The club have appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport but are still awaiting the verdict which will have a huge impact on their transfer plans for this summer.
Lacazette has long been a target for Arsenal although Aulas admits the move to Madrid is far from guaranteed.
“Alex has a verbal agreement with a club, Atletico, but there is no certainty, since we have to wait for CAS to lift the ban,” he told L’Equipe.
“We accepted Alex’s request to discuss exclusively with this club, but the other side of that is that this transfer is made on our terms.”

The France international has enjoyed a stunning season with Lyon 28 scoring Ligue 1 goals in 28 starts and has already admitted he wants to leave the club this summer.
A departure is inevitable and it looks as though he will be heading to Atletico Madrid, unless the CAS fail to overturn their transfer ban.
Lacazette also admitted recently that he would only move to a club who could offer Champions League football and at present it looks as though Arsenal are set to miss out on yet another transfer target.
