French side Bordeaux claim a number of clubs sent scouts to watch their Europa League game against FC Sion on Thursday night, with Arsenal among them, as reported by the club’s official website.
It isn’t clear who we were watching, but there are a number of talented players on display at the Ligue 1 club.
It’s possible Arsene Wenger is looking at Wahbi Khazri, who is a French-born Tunisian attacking midfielder who has been shining brightly for Bordeaux so far this season. With four goals and five assists so far, the 24-year-old is certainly a talent, but he’s not really what we need at the moment.
There are also a number of talented youngsters breaking into the Bordeaux side at the moment, and young and French would certainly fit Wenger’s criteria. We may not find out who he had an eye on though, unless he makes a move to sign one of them in January.
Arsenal transfer news
Whoever we were watching, we seem likely to face competition from the likes of Manchester United, Everton, Monaco, and Lyon – who Bordeaux claim also sent scouts to watch the clash.
