Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has hinted that he’ll adopt a more conservative approach in Monday’s clash against us after his side were beaten quite convincingly in their last visit to the Emirates Stadium.
Rodgers is known for his passing philosophy which he has stuck with religiously since his Swansea City days and adopting a different tactic will be intriguing.
Even during the most difficult of times at Anfield, the Northern Irishman has encouraged all of his players to pass their way through pressure, and any command which contradicts that may well indicate that he doesn’t believe his side can dominate the game at the Emirates Stadium.
As James Pearce from the Liverpool Echo reports, Rodgers referenced the teams who have come away from the Emirates Stadium with a positive result, and noted that the numbers suggest that they’ve surrendered possession while being potent on the counter-attack.

Seeing a team managed by Rodgers adopt such a tactic will be interesting, especially if he partners the energetic duo James Milner and Jordan Henderson at the heart of the team.
Despite keeping two clean sheets in their opening two games, Liverpool are not known for their defensive efficiency and we’ll certainly be looking to break them down and register our first home win of the season.
