We were heavily linked with Serge Aurier prior to his move to Paris Saint-Germain, and the Ivorian could now be available once again after a severe fall out with manager Laurent Blanc, as reported by French outlet L’Equipe.
The 23-year-old is in serious trouble after an outburst saw him insult Blanc and a number of his teammates, and he’s since been suspended indefinitely. He’s been tipped to leave the club after arriving just last summer, and will apparently be available for a knock-down price of just €15 – €20m.
During the outburst he called Blanc “une fiotte” which loosely translates to “a faggot”. He also called Angel Di Maria a clown and claimed the manager showed serious favouritism to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
With Hector Bellerin the only real option we have at right-back since Mathieu Debuchy’s departure – initially on loan but likely to become permanent at the end of the season – we are badly in need of reinforcements. Aurier is a quality full-back who Arsene Wenger was clearly once interested in, but unfortunately this incident may well have turned him off.
If this were FIFA 16 we’d be jumping at the chance to sign a top quality right-back for a bargain price, but unfortunately this is the real world. Wenger is unlikely to want to bring a player clearly so volatile into the squad, a squad with excellent cohesion that he’s worked extremely hard to build.

On paper Aurier’s signing would look to be an excellent one, but with Wenger putting such huge importance on team cohesion and the happiness of his players, it seems unlikely he’d take a risk on a player who has so recently been castigated by his current club.
