Arsenal welcome Southampton to the Emirates this evening for an EFL Cup quarter-final. The Gunners got past Reading and Nottingham Forest but face a tougher test from here on with a number of big clubs left in the hat.
Matchday: Match Preview – Team News – Betting Preview
Match: Arsenal v Southampton
Stadium: Emirates Stadium
Kick-Off (GMT): Wed 30 Nov 19:45
Here’s how we think Arsenal will line up:
GK) Emi Martinez
Arsene Wenger has been utilising his three goalkeepers this season. Petr Cech has started Premier League matches, Ospina has played in Europe, and Emiliano Martinez has started in the EFL Cup. The Argentinean should take to the field again tonight, just a week after signing a new contract at the Emirates.

RB) Carl Jenkinson
Carl Jenkinson will come back in at right-back for this evening’s match. The Englishman didn’t take part in the match against AFC Bournemouth at the weekend but Jenkinson is now the only fit first-team right-back in the squad and needs to be managed carefully.
CB) Gabriel Paulista
The Brazilian hasn’t played for Arsenal as much as he would have liked but got some game time on the weekend and should start tonight. Gabriel filled in at right-back on Sunday but should return to the centre of defence this evening.
CB) Rob Holding
Rob Holding has been a part of the Arsenal defence which is yet to concede a goal in this season’s EFL Cup. The Gunners face Premier League opposition for the first time in the cup this evening and Holding will need to rise to the test.
LB) Kieran Gibbs
The Englishman has worn the armband in the EFL Cup so far this term and we expect that to continue again tonight. Kieran Gibbs is closing in on Nacho Monreal’s starting spot at left-back and will need a good performance this evening.
