Lucas Torreira has spoken about his supposed transfer to Arsenal for the first time in a predictably ambiguous fashion (via Sky Sports).
In recent weeks it has become apparent that Arsenal are closing in on the transfer of Sampdoria’s Lucas Torreira.
The club president spoke recently and claimed that the player had left the club for a price of €30 million.
That was the same amount which the Gunners bid for the player a fortnight ago and now the player personally has spoken about the potential move to Arsenal.
“No, I don’t know,” Torreira said when asked about reports that he had already signed for the club. “At the moment, the most important thing is playing for my country.”
Torreira is currently away at the World Cup with Uruguay and it is believed that any move to North London until after the competition has been concluded.

“Arsenal are a good team, one of the most important in the world, but at this moment I am focused on playing for my country.”
It’s interesting to hear from Lucas Torreira himself about this potential transfer. He has performed well in the World Cup so far but Gunners fans will be hoping to wrap this transfer up as quickly as possible.
