Lukas Podolski is convinced that Arsenal have what it takes to win the Premier league next season, but admits that the Gunners will have to be at their very best to end their silverware drought.
Arsene Wenger’s men finished fourth last season after a strong end-of-season run helped them pip north London rivals Tottenham to the final Champions League spot.
Arsenal have not won the Premier League title since their unbeaten triumph back in 2003-04 and they have not lifted a major trophy since their FA Cup triumph the following season.
According to Daily Mail, he said :
It will not be easy. Everyone thinks it’s easy to get a trophy but you have five or six teams who fight for first place.
It’s not like in Spain where it’s just two teams and in Germany you just have [Borussia] Dortmund and Bayern [Munich].
It’s not easy in England. It’s so competitive. But at Arsenal we have good players, a great coach and great fans.

We can fight for trophies next season. When you look at the finish to last season, if we bring in some players as well then we will have the belief we can take into next season.
You must always believe because we have a good team, a good playing style and if we can pull it together then I believe we can win the Premier League.
Podolski who finished third in the club’s goal scoring charts last season is hoping to raise his performances for the new campaign.
He added :
It was my first year in the Premier League and I think I did well but you always feel you can do better,’ said Podolski.
I will try to play better, score more goals and do some assists for Arsenal. It’s very important that we qualify for the Champions League and fight for the championship.
I like the Premier League, the style of play. It has a big tempo and the style of defense and attack means it’s an exciting year.
We will see how much I can improve and whether I can get better. I still feel like I did well in my first year.
I had a problem with my ankle, I lost a lot of matches and now I am fully fit and will be prepared for the next season
My ankle is fine now. I worked on it throughout the break with the physio, I had rest and a lot of exercises and it feels fine now.
Podolski had a good first season at Arsenal scoring 16 goals in 42 appearances. His return of 16 goals is very good and proved all his doubters wrong, especially as he very rarely plays the full 90 minutes or as a central striker. There was a time when he was out of the team and fans noticed, he has become a clear favorite at the Emirates and a player that can win a game on his own.
Arsene Wenger has been criticized for being too cautious in the transfer market, however, the Frenchman has not failed to guide the side to Champions League football since taking over as boss in 1996 and this summer has been pledged a £70m kitty for new players which if utilized on right players can give Arsenal a real shot at the League title.
Podolski is one of many in the game that is aware of the Gunners’ talent but is also realistic enough to realize that the competition is strong and winning a trophy will not be easy.
What do you say Gunners?
