Arsene Wenger has come in for some serious criticism from MailOnline editor and celebrity Arsenal fan Piers Morgan who believes that the manager’s display of arrogance and stubbornness is holding us back, he told talkSPORT.
Anger seems to be stemming from the Arsenal fans after what has been a disastrous window, with Petr Cech the only signing of the entire window.
Also, given our indifferent start to the season with the issues in our squad clearly highlighted, it remains unfathomable that we haven’t added an outfield first-team player to our squad during the close season.
For Piers, the problem is a true reflection of what our club has become under Wenger.

“I cannot understand why Wenger would do this. Why, when we are on the cusp of potentially challenging again, when you have £200m at your disposal, do you literally do nothing?” Piers told the radio station.

“This behaviour yesterday in the transfer window absolutely personifies the stubbornness, the arrogance, the intransigence and the ‘I know best’ mentality Wenger has.”
It’s becoming increasingly difficult to defend Wenger when he continues to make decisions that have the entire world scratching their heads.
The gaps in our squad are obvious and have been prevalent for a number of years, but he seems intent on doing nothing about it.
Being single-minded is an admirable trait to have when leading such an elite corporation, but that can lead to stubbornness which has essentially affected the job Wenger is paid to do.
