Manchester City are reportedly confident of sealing a move for Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez once the transfer window opens up in January (via The Telegraph).
It would finally bring about an end to one of the longest-running transfer sagas in recent history but it would upset more than a few Arsenal fans.
Alexis Sanchez has long been linked with a move away from the club with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City the likeliest destination.
The pair worked together at FC Barcelona and were close to reuniting in the summer after a late £60 million deal fell through.
Now, Sanchez is an Arsenal player but with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, it’s really only a matter of time.

Manchester City are reportedly confident that it will only be a matter of time until the Chilean is a City player with the January window citing as the likeliest opening.
Sanchez has had a bit of a mixed season for Arsenal thus far, scoring just once in his seven matches for the club in all competitions. Despite that, he would represent a massive loss to the Arsenal team, especially to a Premier League rival. It’s a difficult situation as the player seems keen only on a move to City. Hopefully, the Gunners could look to sell him abroad if the situation arises.
