Nigerian wonderkid Kelechi Nwakali looks like one of the next big things in football, and seems to have sent a come-and-get-me plea to Arsenal (via MTN Football).
He has been heavily linked with Manchester City recently (via the Manchester Evening News), and a move to the Etihad seemed likely considering his brother Chidiebere currently plays there. MTN claims he’s also being linked with Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool, but his comments suggest he’s most keen a move to the Emirates.
“I would love to play for Arsenal. They are the Premier League club I would like to play for because they play the best football in the world,” he said.
That is certainly high praise, and clearly suggests his dream is to play for Arsenal some day. But the question is, would he be welcome in North London?
He certainly looks a hugely promising talent, and recently captained Nigeria’s U17s to World Cup victory. He won the Golden Ball at the competition, showing that he’s unquestionably one of the best players in his age bracket.

The 17-year-old plays in a position we are currently well stocked in, and is predominantly an attacking midfielder. He is clearly one for the future though, so could well appeal to Arsene Wenger’s love of nurturing young talent.
