Rio Ferdinand believes Zlatan Ibrahimovic would be perfect for Arsenal, and would give us the winning mentality we need to finally clinch the Premier League title, as reported by BT Sport.
The giant Swede was a large part of Chelsea’s defeat in the Champions League this past Wednesday night, with the 34-year-old getting an assist and a goal during PSG’s dismantling of the Blues.
As a free agent this summer, he’s being linked with a number of top clubs – including Arsenal and Manchester United. Ferdinand believes he’d be far more suited to us than his former side though, and implored Arsene Wenger to make it happen.
“This game was decided by clinical play and he [Ibrahimovic] was at the centre of that. He basically ended the tie,” he told BT Sport.
“He showed today that even at 34, English clubs should be looking at him as a free transfer.
“He can be the catalyst to winning things because that’s what he does.
- Arsenal prepare loan offer for striker with two goals in 32 games

- ‘Unhappy’ Arsenal striker will only stay if one promise is met
“[He should join] Arsenal. He would give them that winning mentality.”
Ibrahimovic would unquestionably be an excellent signing on paper, and he’s still a top quality striker. He doesn’t seem like the type of player Wenger would sign though, as he could really upset the balance at the club. He’s a massive character with a serious ego, and that could certainly damage what Wenger has built at Arsenal.
He’d also unquestionably demand a massive wage packet, and Wenger may be unwilling to break our wage structure in order to accommodate the star striker.
