Arsene Wenger has reminded his players not to treat the FA Cup quarter final clash against Manchester United as just another game with the two giants set to resume the rivalry at Old Trafford on Monday night.
Wenger has had some infamous battles with our FA Cup opponents in this competition in years gone by and the boss wants his players to show a different kind of mentality.
We haven’t won at Old Trafford in almost a decade and the trepidation among fans is evident, but Wenger believes that complete focus on our own performance will be vital to any potential victory.

“It’s not just another game because it’s the quarter-final of the FA Cup,” he told the official Arsenal website.
“We fought until now to be in there – now we want to stay in it and go to the semi-final. It’s a fantastic opportunity.

“You go there and I don’t expect any weakness from Man United. I know that if we want to qualify, we have to produce a strong performance. They have lost two games in 22 so if you want to beat them, you have to produce a performance.”
The FA Cup clash is as important for the reputation of Wenger, as it is the players, after all, he’s the only common denominator which has remained throughout the decade which has seen us repeatedly defeated at Old Trafford.
