We’ve repeatedly been linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but the club’s cheif executive Michael Zorc claims any speculation linking the Gabon international with a move away from Dortmund is “total bullsh*t”, as reported by German publication Bild.
A striker is seemingly top of our list of targets this summer, and we’ve been regularly linked with a move for Aubameyang (via the Daily Star). Dortmund are clearly desperate to hold on to him though, and Zorc insists he’s going nowhere.
“This is total bullsh*t,” he said.
“We have neither an offer nor a request present.”
You obviously have to take these reports with a pinch of salt, as what else is Dortmund’s chief exec going to say?
It would drastically weaken their position if they admitted they were willing to sell, so naturally to increase the value of arguably their most expensive asset they’ll admit nothing.

That said, regardless of the many, many links, it’s seemed unlikely a deal for Aubameyang to Arsenal can be done. He’s an in demand striker with some of the world’s top teams chasing him, and we know how much Arsene Wenger loathes bidding wards.
Arsenal transfer news
It would be great to see Aubameyang at the Emirates, but while he’s one of the most highly rated strikers in the game it doesn’t seem realistic. As much as we’d love to think Arsenal is where every play wants to be, it’s delusional to think we can compete with the likes of Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and Real Madrid as far as reputation goes, or even Manchester City and Chelsea financially.
