Roberto Mancini is apparently worried about Johan Djourou ahead of this Sunday’s blockbuster fixture at the Etihad according to this Daily Mail report.
The Italian manager that steered City to their Premier League triumph last season has highlighted his sides weakness at the back at present after conceding 11 goals in their opening six games this season, but has passed the blame of the lack of cohesion at the back to poor preseason preparations.
While he suggested Arsenal’s strengths lie with new comers Santi Cazorla and Lukas Podolski, the Italian suggested that after the performance against Liverpool, Johan Djourou is one to watch out for despite he didn’t score at Anfield, in fact he didn’t even play…errrm think you mean Olivier Giroud Daily Mail!
Arsenal are very strong on the counter-attack.
I watched the game against Liverpool on TV and they played really well. They have two important players, Cazorla and Podolski, who are very good and Johan Djourou [Giroud] maybe. He didn’t score but he is a good player.

We should pay attention because their counter-attack will be very strong.
Giroud certainly will be one to watch I feel if he gets a start. His height will give their nervous backline something to worry about, and his ability to hold up the ball will help to bring Cazorla into the attack further.
Podolski will hope he can continue his hot goal scoring form that has seen him net three times in three consecutive matches, with Gervinho likely to partner him on the other wing after his recent goal scoring exploits.
City will be missing Samir Nasri who is suffering a hamstring injury, but attacking duo Mario Balotelli and Sergio Augero are both available.
I’d like to see Koscielny start the fixture this Sunday as Mertesacker will struggle with the pace of Augero and Tevez, while Jenkinson will need to produce another solid performance out wide in the absence of the injured Bacary Sagna.
