Arsenal have been dealt a potential huge blow this summer after reports have surfaced Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement for the transfer of Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette this summer.
There is still hope however with Atleti unable to sign players this summer thanks to a sanction from FIFA last year that prevented themselves and Real Madrid from signing any new players in 2017 (via ESPN).
Arsenal have been linked with the Frenchman for sometime, with the Gunners coming close to signing the striker last summer. Arsene Wenger reportedly wants to sign the wantaway frontman this summer to replace Alexis Sanchez who looks increasingly likely to leave the Emirates this summer.
Reports from Spain claim Atletico Madrid have won the race to sign Lacezette who has been in irresistible form this season, netting 29 goals already. Antonio Ruiz, a reporter close to Atleti, broke the news with several media outlets in Spain running the news this morning and the club feel they can overturn their transfer embargo this summer to close the deal.

Should Arsenal miss out on Lacazette, it would represent a huge blow considering the likelihood there will be limited top-class striking options available on the market this summer.

Atleti are also one of many clubs interested in Alexis, however should they manage to sign the Lyon hitman, they will be fully stocked with superstar Antoine Griezmann looking increasingly likely to stay at the Vicente Calderón.
This summer is going to be fun…
