Arsenal’s massive showdown with Olympiacos next Wednesday looks to have become an even more difficult task with reports from The Mirror suggesting Alexis Sanchez and Santi Cazorla will still be absent according to the Mirror.
The star duo picked up worrying injuries in the 1-1 draw with Norwich City on Sunday, with Sanchez hobbling off with a hamstring injury that may see him miss the next three weeks. Similarly the Gunners face an anxious wait on the extent of Cazorla’s knee injury after a collision shortly after the start of the second half. It is suggested there could be possible ligament or nerve damage which spells even more trouble for the Gunners (via Mirror).
There is however a big boost in the form of Laurent Koscielny who also limped off at the weekend, his hip problem is thought to not be as bad as first thought and is expected to resume training this week ahead of our home tie against Sunderland.
But that still means a massive eight first team players are likely to be absent this Saturday.
Kieran Gibbs could be back after a recent calf problem, but Alexis and Cazorla now join Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck, Tomas Rosicky, Mikel Arteta, Theo Walcott and Francis Coquelin in a very crammed treatment room.
If the report in the Mirror is to be believed, Theo Walcott is facing a race to be fit before Christmas as he has only just begun running and yet to partake in any contact activity.

Arsenal have a massive month ahead in December, with some tasty fixtures on the horizon including the crunch tie with Olympiacos where we must win by two clear goals. Fingers crossed the likes of Santi and Alexis can recover quicker than initially feared, but I wouldn’t be too confident.
