Arsenal needed a fast start in this crucial match and they did just that, taking the match to Chelsea in the early stages.
Thankfully, the Gunners took advantage of the situation when Alexandre Lacazette brought the ball down, turned and unleashed a wonderful shot into the top corner.
The visitors grew back into the match and started to have more of an influence on possession but struggled to test Bernd Leno.
Arsenal finished the half stronger and got their reward when Sokratis Papastathopoulos crossed for his centre-back partner Laurent Koscielny who grabbed his first goal since returning from injury.

Marcos Alonso clipped the outside of the post with a header before the half was out but the Gunners went into the break in front.
The Gunners just needed to see the match out after the break and they did just that.
Chelsea couldn’t break the home side down thanks to an excellent defensive performance from the Gunners as they secured a crucial win.
