Well, it was far from routine for Arsenal.
The Gunners picked up their sixth successive win in all competitions but did so in dramatic fashion at the Emirates.
Shane Long but Southampton ahead in the first-half but the home side responded well.

Substitute Charlie Austin equalised in the second-half before Danny Welbeck grabbed his second of the match to put the Gunners ahead again.
The game looked to be petering out before an on-field coming-together between Jack Wilshere and Jack Stephens led to the latter being sent off.
Wilshere was fortunate not to head for an early bath too but Mohamed Elneny was less so when he was shown a straight red in the aftermath.
