Kick-Off (UK Time): 15:00 01/01/2019
Arsenal started 2019 on the pitch with a bright opening in their first match of the year at home to Fulham.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang really should have opened the scoring for the Gunners shortly before Ryan Sessegnon could have done the same for Fulham at the other end.
But it was the home side which did take the lead. Granit Xhaka ventured forward on a rare push into the opposition box and brought the ball down before making it 1-0.
There were chances for both teams before and after the break but it was Arsenal who grabbed the crucial next goal. Sead Kolasinac burst down the left before cutting the ball back for Alexandre Lacazette to score.

Fulham grabbed a goal back through Kamara but it was Arsenal’s day as they powered clear late on.
