Arsenal v Norwich
Barclays Premier League
Kick off: October 19, 2013 3:00 PM BST
We return back to the Premier League with Arsenal set to lock horns with Norwich City at home. While the Gunners have a busy schedule ahead I am expecting Wenger to still field a strong team to get the job done and keep his side at the summit of the Premier League for another week.
Thankfully, it looks as though there have been no lasting effects on any of the players after returning from the international break. Initial reports suggested there was some concern regarding the fitness of two of Arsenal’s better players this season, Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil. However those concerns were largely disregarded by Wenger in his usual press conference.
Looking at the formation, there are a number of potential line-ups that Arsene could employ. As an optimist, I am hoping to see Cazorla return to the starting line-up, although if he doesn’t expect Wilshere to reprise his current role out wide. As for the rest of the midfielders I am expecting to see Flamini and Ramsey, with Ozil taking up the attacking role. On the other flank, I am quietly hoping Gnabry gets a start after Arsenal looking like they lacked penetration in their draw with West Brom.
In terms of other potential starters, the team virtually picks itself with Bacary Sagna the only likely change to made after his return from injury. Hopefully this will better shore up the right-flank as young Jenkinson looked a little shaky in his performance against West Brom.
One thing I would certainly like to see from today’s match is a clean sheet. Despite looking relatively solid at the back, the Gunners have only managed one clean sheet in the Premier League thus far. On the attacking front expect the usual contenders, such as Ozil, Ramsey and Giroud, to play their part.
