Preview
After a brief hiatus for the international break, Arsenal are back in action in the Premier League with a tricky trip to Watford. The Hornets currently sit in eighth place in the table and ran out 2-1 winners over the Gunners the last time the two sides met back in January. It’s a big match for both teams but the sort of tie which the visitors really need to be winning if they are to be considered amongst the top four contenders in the coming months.
Team News
Shkodran Mustafi and Santi Cazorla are the only two players guaranteed to miss the tie for Arsenal but there are more than a few doubts. Francis Coquelin, Danny Welbeck, Laurent Koscielny, Calum Chambers and Mesut Ozil have all been injured, Sead Kolasinac picked up a knock while away with his country and Alexis Sanchez returned late from international duty.
For the home side, things are a little more clear cut. Sebastian Prödl is the only doubt but Younes Kaboul, Isaac Success, Nathaniel Chalobah and Craig Cathcart are all ruled out.
Betting
Arsenal are the favourites for the tie with best-priced odds of 17/25. The home side are 9/2 with 7/2 for a draw. Whilst its clear that the bookies are backing the Gunners, it’s unclear what the scoreline will be. Arsenal have kept five clean sheets in their last seven matches and could worth a punt for another. A straightforward 2-0 win is 10/1.
