Arsenal new boy Matteo Guendouzzi has revealed what he wants from his first season at the club (via The Mirror).
He was a player who went under the radar prior to signing for Arsenal but Matteo Guendouzi really made a name for himself during the pre-season tour of Singapore.
Guendouzi played at the base of the midfield in both matches and impressed immensely with his composure and ability on the ball.
The 19-year-old made his £7 million transfer from Lorient less than three weeks ago but now, Guendouzi has got his sights set on the coming season and revealed what he wants from his first year in England.
“Yes I hope to play, that’s true but this is a big squad, with a lot of great players with a lot of experience,” he told AFP.
“It’s a question of working, working, working, and afterwards the coach will make his choices.

“But I hope to play a few games. It’s a great environment to work in, we’re working really well in training and we’re playing well in the matches.
“But it’s only the start. Hopefully, this will be a big adventure with Arsenal.
“These are only friendly matches so I need to keep working – that’s the most important thing for the future I hope to have at Arsenal.”
Matteo Guendouzi was hugely impressive during the pre-season tour of Singapore. The Frenchman is clearly immensely talented but as he mentioned, Arsenal have a lot of options in midfield. Aaron Ramsey, Granit Xhaka, Lucas Torreira and Mohamed Elneny are probably all ahead of Guendouzi in the pecking order so it’s up to him to grow and develop.
