The Gunners were beaten on home soil by the German giants two weeks ago, but head to Dortmund five points clear in the Premier League following a 2-0 win over Liverpool.
The German international feels there is no reason to believe why they cannot return to London with a positive result against last season’s European runners up.
Speaking to the Arsenal official website, he said:
I think the team have to take their lesson but we are still good enough to compete with last year’s finalists. That’s a good thing for us so we have to keep our chins up and think we can do it.
Both teams know that we are capable of beating each other. We have to be aware in Dortmund because it’s even harder to play there.
Two years ago we just managed to draw there, we were very lucky so that will be a tough challenge. But when you look at the numbers from Tuesday’s game we are capable of achieving something special and we are good enough to go there and win.
The 29 year old believes this month will be vital for Arsenal if they are to remain in contention both domestically and in the Champions League. He added:
We want to be as consistent as possible during the period until December or until the end of the year. That will be important in order to compete with the top four or five opponents for the top position.

We are really happy with our situation at the moment and I think we will continue to receive enough points to stay on top of the league and the Champions League as well.
Arsenal were pretty sluggish in their Champions League fixture against Borussia Dortmund back at the Emirates in a rather unlucky fashion by conceding a very poor goal on the back of a counter attack. It was a disappointing result considering dropping a possible point has made qualification even harder.
The Gunners know that should they lose today’s game they will be left with needing to go to Napoli and win to have a chance of qualifying. However they still sit on top of the group, albeit with the same number of points as both Dortmund and Napoli. So if we can get back from Germany with some points then it will put us in a great position.
The result against Liverpool does give the side a lot of confidence and if we can emulate that performance today then I am sure we will still be top of the group. We must start the match as strong as possible but also remain disciplined and patient should we struggle to create any openings.
