Mesut Özil has been in fantastic form in 2015, but he was suffering somewhat at the start of the season. He claims exhaustion was the main reason for his dip in form, with the German star coming off the back of a demanding summer at the World Cup, as reported by the Daily Star.
Our record signing has been a huge part of our late season push in the Premier League, and – along with Olivier Giroud and Francis Coquelin in particular – has propelled us towards the top of the table.
He is coming off the back of a lengthy spell on the sidelines however, after injuring himself in our clash with Chelsea earlier in the campaign.
The injury may actually have been a blessing in disguise however, as it gave him a chance not only to rest, but to build his body up as well.

The 26-year-old claims he was tired at the start of the season, and insisted his form was suffering as a result. He finally seems to be accustomed to the rigours of the English top flight however, and has looked invigorated since his return.
“I was exhausted at the start of the season,” he said, according to the Daily Star.
“I started playing professional football at the age of 16 and had never really suffered many serious injuries.
“I guess ten years of consistently playing football took its toll.
“I was also struggling with the physicality of this league.”
The £42.5m man finally looks to be justifying his price tag, and has been nothing short of spectacular in recent weeks. His recent performances have certainly answered some of his critics, so hopefully he can keep it up.
