There are certainly more than a few similarities between the situation at Arsenal right now and the Manchester United last season.
Both clubs turned their attention to cup competitions and the Europa League after a dismal run of form in the league.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan is perhaps the biggest link between the two teams and the Armenian was asked if his experience with Manchester United last season can help Arsenal in the Europa League this year.
“I think this team already has big experience,” Mkhitaryan said in the pre-match press conference.
“We have to stick together and win the first game ahead of the second leg. We’ll do everything”

The 29-year-old was then asked whether he thinks Arsenal have turned their attention away from the Premier League and solely to the Europa League like United did last season.
“We are not going to think that we only have to give all our strength and power in Europa League games. It’s not like that.
“We still have seven games to go in the Premier League and we have to win every game and then to see where we go in the Europa League.”
It promises to be a vital match for Arsenal and, hopefully, Henrikh Mkhitaryan will play a big role. The Armenian was excellent for the Gunners in the previous leg of this competition and will be hoping for more of the same. To find out whether that will happen, head to our live stream page.
