The English press are reporting that Monaco have rejected Arsenal’s mammoth £87 million bid for teenage forward Kylian Mbappe. News of the offer broke yesterday but it seems that the Ligue 1 champions are determined to keep hold of their star man (via The Telegraph).
He’s one of the most-wanted players in world football right now but it seems that Monaco are determined to hang onto 18-year-old forward Kylian Mbappe.
The Frenchman has taken this season by storm with his incredible performances both domestically and in the Champions League.
He’s coveted by some of the biggest clubs in world football and the Ligue 1 side have reportedly turned down some astronomical offers for the youngster from both Real Madrid and another unnamed club.
News broke last night that Arsenal had joined the chasing pack and submitted a club record £87 million offer for the player. It has now being reported that the bid has been rejected by the French champions.
Mbappe has been a long-term target for the Gunners. Arsene Wenger has long been an admirer of the youngster, even meeting the player last season in the hopes of signing him.

That didn’t happen and after an incredible breakout season, the price tag for Kylian Mbappe has reached astronomical levels.
It remains to be seen whether the Gunners will submit another bid for the youngster. Kylian Mbappe is undoubtedly one of the most exciting young players on the planet today but the Gunners aren’t alone in seeing that. Arsenal will be hoping that the presence of Arsene Wenger can convince Kylian Mbappe to move to the Emirates and aid his development.
