AS Monaco have rejected a €35 Million bid from Arsenal for winger Thomas Lemar who has been heavily linked with the Gunners (via RMC Sport).
When news of Arsenal’s interest in Thomas Lemar broke, many Arsenal fans were hopeful that any potential deal would happen quite quickly.
Most were optimistic when word of a lodged bid reached the press in recent days but it seems that this transfer story could drag on.
Publications across France are now reporting that the Ligue 1 champions have rejected Arsenal’s offer for the winger.
Lemar scored 14 goals for AS Monaco in all competitions last season and Arsene Wenger is rumoured to be a huge fan of the player.
However, AS Monaco have rejected the Gunners’ opening bid rumoured to be in excess of €35 Million.

It was reported earlier in the week that the player had chosen Arsenal over North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur but we may have to wait a while before this one gets wrapped up.
It remains to be seen whether or not Thomas Lemar will end up as an Arsenal player this summer. He was undoubtedly one of the standout players in an excellent AS Monaco team but it seems that Arsenal will need a larger fee to secure his services.
