Monchi has spoken about his potential Arsenal move after completing his return to Sevilla (via Sport Witness).
There aren’t many famous directors of football in the world today but Monchi is certainly one of them.
The Spaniard built up quite a reputation at Sevilla and was reportedly a target for Arsenal as the club looked to sign a new Technical Director.
Well, the Gunners missed out on their man after Monchi completed his return to Sevilla and at his unveiling, the former goalkeeper was asked about the Arsenal rumours.
“I appreciate the interest of Arsenal, perhaps the one that has shown the most interest, and of other clubs who have made contact,” Monchi said according to Estadio Deportivo.
“I have evaluated the proposals I had and I have chosen Sevilla. It was the one that brought things together and had the conditions for me.”

After Monchi’s return to Sevilla was confirmed, it seems like Arsenal started to look at other candidates.
Edu Gaspar was again touted as an option but another name has been put forward by the English press: Luis Campos.
Campos is a famed scout in France and is credited with finding much of that remarkable Monaco team between 2014 and 2016.
It’s an interesting new rumour for Arsenal. The club has a long history of finding talented players in France and Luis Campos could continue that legacy. The big issue is that Campos doesn’t have any obvious connection with either the club or Arsenal’s hierarchy which could make things more difficult.
