West Brom midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu has revealed he has received interest from the Gunners ahead of a January transfer move, and he feels the time is right for the next step in his career.
The 26-year-old midfielder has grown frustrated with the lack of maturity exercised from the Baggies recently and is keen to progress his career and potentially take up the Gunners should they come in with a concrete offer in the winter transfer window.
Mulumbu has been with WBA for four years and has made an impression over the past couple of seasons with his combative displays, enough so to warrant an approach from the Premier League leaders.
The Congo international reportedly told The Sun:
I’ve had approaches from Arsenal.
I could leave this winter. This is the right time for me to set my sights higher. I’m ready to join a top-four club.

We are not professional enough in the way we manage our games – for example our draw at Chelsea. We are not mature enough.
The midfielder’s comments will do little to endear him to the Baggies faithful and manager Steve Clarke, and could land him in hot water after his somewhat direct comments.
The Congo international was given a chance to revitalize his career with WBA after leaving Paris Saint-Germain in 2009 and has become a mainstay in their midfield managing 156 appearances and scoring 14 times.
His comments are certainly puzzling as the Gunners may have been after him earlier in the summer, but with Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta on the books in north London it is highly unlikely Wenger will revitalize any initial interest in him this winter.
May have shot himself in the foot there.
