Shkodran Mustafi almost put his foot in it during an interview in Germany, claiming that Arsenal teammate Alexis Sanchez is good enough to play for Bayern Munich (via The Daily Mail).
As time goes by, it seems more and more uncertain whether or not Alexis Sanchez will remain at Arsenal or move clubs. The Chilean will have no shortage of suitors but Bayern Munich are supposedly at the top of the list.
Shkodran Mustafi has been interviewed by German publication Bild about the Chilean and the centre-back gave a slightly worrying an answer.
“He can play in every team,” Mustafi said. “He could play anywhere, even at Bayern.”
It’s perhaps not ideal to name drop the club Alexis Sanchez has been linked with to prove his quality but Shkodran Mustafi did move on to more encouraging terms.
“I hope he stays,” Mustafi continued.

“He is an extraordinary player, for me one of the best in the world. I have experienced few players who are as hungry as him.
“As soon as he is on the ball, everyone knows something can happen.”
It’s clear that Mustafi is a fan of his Arsenal teammate and given the Chilean’s form last season, who can blame him? We revealed yesterday that Alexis Sanchez will probably wait until after the Confederation’s Cup to decide his Arsenal future and like Shkodran Mustafi, we’re just going to have to wait and hope that Sanchez decides to stay at the Emirates.
