Due to Fabregas being the first out of the duo to reach the exit door though, it is reported that Arsene Wenger remains hopeful that Nasri will stay at the Emirates to fill the Fab-gap.
It is no secret that the Frenchman has refused to pen a new deal with the gunners and with only 12 months left to run on his contract it means we will most probably lose him on a free transfer next summer.
While it has been reported that Nasri did not play the opening game of the Premier League due to ‘illness’, many suspect this is a cover-up due to the unclear nature of his future as he played 65 minutes for France with no problems on Wednesday.
With so much speculation over his future and angst among Arsenal fans, who label Nasri as unloyal and greedy, things boiled over at Newcastle where some of the travelling gooners started a ruthless chant: “Sami your a c***, your a c***, Sami your a c***…”
Obviously being such a disgusting chant Nasri hit back through twitter saying: “I heard what the fans were singing about me on Saturday and it is really disrespectful because I’m still a (sic) arsenal player.”

I have to say now what little hope there was to retain Nasri has surely been blasted out of the water as we have effectively pushed him out the door now. Although I also harbour frustrations over Nasri, perhaps this is a little fickle considering what he did at Arsenal last season.
Who knows, he maybe pulling a Rooney to try and force Arsene to sign some quality players to show ambition? But then again he maybe after money? Or simply put, he wants the trophies that the Arsenal youngsters can’t PRESENTLY provide? What do you think? Leave a comment below.
