It didn’t take long for Chelsea fans to turn on former Blues star Petr Cech, and the veteran shot-stopper has already been the victim of abuse and death threats, as reported by the Evening Standard.
He has responded to the criticism from his former supporters, lashing out at them and branding them not true Chelsea fans.
“The true fans have sent me messages that are pleasing and positive. True fans will appreciate what I’ve done and the legacy I’ve left,” he said, as quoted by the Standard.
“There are some people who have left me negative messages, but they aren’t true Chelsea fans.”
The Czech international received death threats via Twitter, and has been branded a snake by a number of Chelsea fans (via the Standard). Clearly they feel the 33-year-old should sit and rot on the bench for the good of their club, as who could possibly ever want to leave Stamford Bridge?

It looks to be an excellent – if somewhat surprising – signing by Arsene Wenger, and given the nature of the relationship between Jose Mourinho and himself it’s fantastic he was able to pull it off.
Hopefully he can have the same impact at Arsenal that he did at Chelsea, and help guide us to glory in the coming seasons.
