Nottingham Forest have won the race to sign talented Arsenal youngster Chuba Akpom on loan until the end of the season.
Akpon only recently signed a four-and-a-half year contract at the club and a move away to a Championship side is being seen as the next stage in his progression to provide him with regular game time.
Forest were just one of seven clubs thought to be chasing the 19-year-old as there was a clamour to acquire his services before the Championship loan window shuts this week, reports Daily Mirror.
Arsenal are eager to see their talented youngster acquire game time to make the move worthwhile and Forest are said to have provided the best opportunity to do so.

There were fears earlier in the season that Akpom could potentially leave the club in the summer for free with a number of European giants hovering to snatch up his talents.
However, after a series of substitute appearances during this campaign it appears Akpom was convinced enough to extend his stay until at least 2019.
Whilst the teenager has struggled for game time and appearances since the return of Theo Walcott to the Arsenal squad there’s no doubting the promise and potential Arsene Wenger sees.
You need only remember the Arsenal boss allowed a full international in Lukas Podolski and Yaya Sanogo to exit the club on-loan in January in order to aid Akpom’s quest for more match play.
