Karim Benzema‘s name is on almost every Arsenal fan’s lips at the moment, with the Real Madrid striker heavily linked with a move to North London, according to The Telegraph.
The report claims a move is now looking closer than ever, with odds slashed on the Frenchman making the switch to Arsenal. As The Telegraph states, odds are currently as low as 5/6 on Benzema arriving this summer.
While this is in no way concrete evidence of a move for the 27-year-old, bookies are often privy to information that others aren’t. Part of the job is being in the know about who will and who won’t be moving, with odds needing to be dropped when a move looks imminent to prevent huge losses.
They may also have simply been reacting to an influx of bets in recent days, with a number of sources – some more reliable than others – suggesting Benzema’s switch to Arsenal is close.
Gazzetta dello Sport writer Emanuele Giulianelli and ESPN presenter Jeinny Lizarazo have both taken to Twitter to announce Benzema’s imminent move (via The Telegraph), while former footballer Rodney Marsh claims a £48m bid has been accepted (via talkSPORT).

It would be fantastic to see Benzema join the club, so hopefully these numerous links prove to be more than just rumours. We could certainly do with reinforcements before the window closes at the end of the month, and time is running out to get our business done.
