Arsenal have confirmed that Head of Recruitment Sven Mislintat will leave the club next month (via Arsenal.com).
It has been rumoured for almost a week but today, the club has confirmed that Head of Recruitment Sven Mislintat will be leaving.
Mislintat only joined the Emirates setup from Borussia Dortmund last year but has made a big impression in a short period of time.
The German scout has been credited with the decision to sign players like Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi but will be leaving his post on 8 February 2019.
His departure has been linked with an alleged falling out behind the scenes between Mislintat and Head of Football Raul Sanllehi and Mislintat’s belief that the club has failed to live up to its promises to him.
“It’s been an amazing experience to work at a great club like Arsenal in what has been a big time of change,” Mislintat said in the official statement.

It’s a strange and troubling decision. Signing Sven Mislintat was an enormous coup for the club and it was hoped that he would help the Gunners build a team able to compete with the best in Europe. We can only speculate what happened behind the scenes.
