Arsenal’s official website has confirmed the Gunners will be selling soon-to-be ex-captain Robin van Persie to Premier League rivals Manchester United.
All of this summers positive hard work in the transfer market has been undone by the sale of the former talismanic forward, despite Wenger maintaining they would not be selling him at any cost…errr right.
Arsenal’s official website released the following statement:
Arsenal Football Club can confirm that terms have been agreed for the transfer of Robin van Persie to Manchester United.
Van Persie will travel to Manchester on Thursday in order to agree personal terms and complete a medical ahead of the proposed move.
The proposed transfer fee is believed to be in the region of £20m for the 29-year-old striker, in some ways it’s not really worth it considering he could be the difference to winning a cup but his heart wasn’t in it anymore.
Arsenal HAVE to reinvest this money, Podolski and Giroud are quality but we need more depth. What the hell is Arsenal’s board thinking by selling our prized asset to one of our main rivals? But the Dutchman dug his own grave when he released that statement last month, I still have respect for Fabregas but will struggle to feel the same about Van Persie.
