The Gunners are set to face North London rivals Tottenham Hotspurs without the services of experienced right back Bacary Sagna and possibly Abou Diaby who faces a late fitness test. Kieran Gibbs is also still unavailable.
This Sunday’s fixture at White Hart Lane is set to be vital for both sides who are pushing for Champions League qualification, and Spurs are also seeking revenge for the 5-2 humiliation in the reverse tie this season.
News of Sagna’s unavailablity is somewhat predictable after the Frenchman missed last weekend’s 2-1 victory over Aston Villa, however Diaby’s knock from that match was deemed as minor however it could leave him just short of full fitness.
Wenger revealed the following team news:
[on Bacary Sagna] He is not ready for Sunday. It is too short for him.
[on other team news] Abou is an uncertainty. He has a calf problem, a minor one. It is question of days. He will have tests and then we will see if we can use him on Sunday or not. It is a 50:50. Actually maybe a bit more for him playing.

- Arsenal may be forced to sell top ‘asset’ as pressure piles on Arteta
[on Kieran Gibbs] Kieran is not back. That was as we expected.
Jenkinson will naturally start at right back in the absence of Sagna, and he will have to be on his game with the likes of Bale and Holtby hoping to jostle the youngster down the right.
In midfield the selection becomes a bit more complicated. Arteta and Wilshere are automatic selections but Wenger has options with Cazorla a possibility on the wing with a defensive minded Coquelin an option or Ramsey.
There is also the likelihood that Wilshere could play a deeper role than of late and help Arteta out with Cazorla allowed full creative licence behind the striker.
It is a big game for the club and for Wenger, his side have failed to dominate against the top clubs this season and let’s hope for the Frenchman’s sake he fields the right team tactically and the lads perform well.
Common you Gunners!
