Left back Kieran Gibbs and goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski were the only lingering injured players however they have recovered in time for the Gunners final home match. Long term absentees Abou Diaby and Ryo Miyaichi are still missing.
Gibbs has plenty of competition for the left back role with January signing Nacho Monreal a fully fledged Spanish international, and his return may have come too late to start against the Latics, he will however most likely be involved in proceedings.
Fabianski will be pushing hard to oust compatriot Szczesny from between the sticks after his return to fitness but the younger Pole has proven once again in his countryman’s absence why he is the number one. But you never know, Wenger may look to throw a spanner in the works like he did against Bayern and look to play the more experienced, elder Pole.
